What To Expect

What Can I Expect?

We know returning to church or meeting someone for the first time can be intimidating, and going to a new church for the first time can be especially scary. We want to help make your experience at River Valley a great one!

SERVICE TIMES

River Valley Church meets every weekend on Sundays at 17 Owlcreek Lane, Fisher, IL 61843.

Blended Worship Service at 10:00 AM

Services are livestreamed via Facebook Live (www.facebook.com/rvccfisher) and are also available on the homepage of our website.

WHAT PRECAUTIONS HAS THE CHURCH TAKEN DUE TO COVID-19?

RVCC is striving to make in-person church services as safe as possible. Here are some of the steps we are taking to keep you safe:

“High-touch” surfaces are disinfected regularly.

Hand sanitizer will be readily available at the main entrance, auditorium, and other higher-traffic locations.

While it is not required, we welcome those who feel they are at-risk to wear a mask if they so choose.

HOW LONG IS A SERVICE?

In total, a service at River Valley is approximately 60 minutes in length. Services begin with a brief welcome and announcements, a Scripture reading and prayer, and then music - song lyrics are projected onto the screen so you can sing along and/or engage with worship however you feel most comfortable. After the music portion of service is complete, communion is offered to any believers in Christ who would like to join. Following communion is the message, which is contemporary and usually about 20-25 minutes in length. After the message, there is a time of invitation with singing, a closing prayer, and then dismissal.

WHAT'S THE CULTURE LIKE AT RIVER VALLEY?

Sundays at River Valley are warm, casual, and relaxed. Come as you are and expect to feel welcomed as our guest.

WHAT ABOUT MY KIDS?

Currently we are offering Kids Church on Sunday mornings at 10:30 AM (kids are dismissed to Kids Church immediately after communion/before the sermon). Kids enjoy a Bible story and lesson, snack, craft time and other activities together. You are also welcome to bring your kids to our main service - we have "busy boards" with coloring sheets and crayons available at our Welcome Center near the front doors that your kids are encouraged to use if desired.

We do offer youth group on Wednesday nights for students in K-6th grade during the school year (early September - early May) and on Sunday nights for students in 7th-12th grade. You can find more information and sign up here.
